Namibia

Namibia is a large country located on the southwest coast of Africa, It is bordered on the north by Angola , on the east by Botswana, and to the south by the Republic of South Africa. Most of Namibia is semi-desert, covered with savannah of camel thorn Acacia also called “wait a bit” bush. In the north of Namibia is the Caprivi Strip which in contrast to the arid south is full of lush forests and swamps along the Kavango and Chobe rivers. Until WWI Namibia was a German protectorate and the German culture is still very evident there today while German is still spoken by many ranchers, who are descendants of the original settlers. Namibia is famous for plains game hunting due to its great variety of species like Gemsbok, blue and black Gnu (Wildebeest), Red Hartebeest, Eland etc.  There are also tribal hunting concessions in Damaraland and in Kavango and recently big game hunting concessions have been opened in the Caprivi Strip. These areas are rapidly becoming famous for elephant, leopard, and buffalo, as well as for a variety of antelope and other game in a pristine, wild setting.
